SUMMARY:The Cornish Pilgrimage Walk
DESCRIPTION:Author and walker Robin Moore invites you to join him in his celebration of 25 years of walking for our charity as he walks The Cornish Pilgrimage over 12 days during September 2025.\nIn honour of Cornwall Hospice\, Robin has created this 200 mile pilgrimage walk as a National Route and Ancient and Modern Discovery Trail for Cornwall and everyone is welcome to join him along his route.  Whether you have an hour\, a day or more\, Robin would love as many people to join him along the way of this incredible walking route he’s created.\nOriginated in 2010\, The Cornish Pilgrimage is largely perceived as an Ancient and Modern Discovery Trail aimed at delving deep into the Cornish culture. Participating in the Pilgrimage each year also enables Robin and those walking to raise awareness and funds for Cornwall Hospice. \nThroughout the entirety of the journey\, there are Cornwall Hospice collections tins in place at most of the stopovers/hostelries where patrons are happy to support this worthy cause. Local support is invaluable but it’s also good to know that the pilgrimage invites the wider public to come along and offer a help in hand too. To the bold adventurer opportunities are boundless. \nThe pilgrimage offers a chance to discover an iconic region while at the same time testing one’s ability to walk long distance. \nThe Cornish Pilgrimage Route\nSetting off on Saturday 6th September 2025 \, Robin will be walking The Cornish Pilgrimage route: \n\nDay 1 – Morwenstow\nDay 2 – Bude\nDay 3 – Tregadillet\nDay 4 – Camelford\nDay 5 – Padstow\nDay 6 – Lanivet\nDay 7 – Pentewan\nDay 8 – Veryan\nDay 9 – Carharrack\nDay 10 – St Ives\nDay 11 – St Michael’s Mount\nDay 12 – Land’s End\n\nHow you can participate in The Cornish Pilgrimage\nWe invite you to join Robin this walk – whether it’s for an hour or two\, a day or more – we’d love you to come on this journey through ancient and modern Cornwall\, seeing our wonderful county from a different perspective.  By making a donation to Robin’s fundraising for Cornwall Hospice you’ll be helping to fund our two hospices to provide end of life care to the people of Cornwall. \nIf you’re keen for a challenge\, why not take on the whole route? \nYou can also obtain The Cornish Pilgrimage Guide and a Passport on Robin’s website.  The Passport enables participants to collect stamps and signatures to validate the pilgrimage walk. \nContact Robin Moore to find out more by emailing Robin or by visiting his website https://www.robin-moore.co.uk/ \n  \nFind out about other upcoming fundraising events in support of Cornwall Hospice on our website events calendar.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for our Cycle France 2025 challenge!\nJoin #TeamCHC on our fourth bespoke overseas cycle for charity\, taking place over 6 days in September 2025.\nYour adventure will take you from the shores of Normandy through the beautiful countryside of Brittany\, before returning to Cornwall for a triumphant finish and celebration at our Mount Edgcumbe Hospice in St Austell.\nA truly amazing experience; you’ll make lifelong friends\, go beyond what you thought you could do\, but most of all make unforgettable memories.  \nWant to know more?  Here’s the lowdown\nYou will spend 5 days in the saddle\, cycling some 327 miles. SUMMARY:Where Art Meets The Wave
DESCRIPTION:Following on from the 2022 Around Cornwall in 38 Churns project\, volunteer fundraiser Sue Dennett is championing a new artistic project for 2024/2025 called Where Art Meets the Wave.\nThis new art project has been many months in the making\, with local Cornish artists who in 2024\, took one of 40 wooden belly boards specially made for the project by Fyne Boat Kits of Kendal and Derek Thompson of Surf Classic Boards\, and used their own inspiration and skills to turn these simple boards into desirable works of art.\nWe reached out to our local community of artists to ask if they would take one of our belly boards to transform\, and the response has been overwhelming. We’ve had everyone from passionate hobbyists to established names like Michael Praed\, Kurt Jackson\, Dick Twinney\, Anthony Frost\, and Steven Camps wanting to get involved. \nThrough the summer of 2025 all 40+ finished artworks can be viewed at a number of locations in Cornwall: \n\nPixel\, Penzance\nHub\, St Ives\nThe Headland Hotel\, Newquay\nSaltwalls Gallery\, Newquay\nNewquay Garden Centre\, Quintrell Downs\nStart & Co\, Newquay\nPorthmeor Studios\, St Ives\nThe Roundhouse & Capstan Gallery\, Sennen\nCoast at Beachside\, Hayle\nJackson Foundation Gallery\, St Just\nCliffside Gallery\, Port Issac\n\nIn parallel to the exhibitions\, you have the opportunity to place a bid in our online auction organised by Lay’s Auctioneers of Penzance\, to make these unique artworks your own! Bidding is open now so make sure to place your bid on your favourites!  Visit the auction site to place your bids. \nThursday 25th September 2025 will see the culmination of the project with a final exhibition of all the artworks together coinciding with the final day of the auction\, and we hope to be able to announce the total amount raised at the end of the night. \nFind out much more about Where Art Meets The Wave\nYou can find out about the artists involved\,  the organisations involved in making the ‘blank canvas’ boards and much more by visiting the Where Art Meets The Wave website and by following the dedicated Instagram and Facebook pages. \nWhats the aim of Where Art Meets The Wave?\nThe aim\, as with the 38 Churns project which went before\, is to raise money for Cornish charity Cornwall Hospice who run the two adult hospices in Hayle and St Austell. \nSue Dennett has been a volunteer raising money for this vital charity for 40 years and is passionate about ensuring that our hospices are there providing palliative and end of life care for all those in Cornwall that need them. Here are just a couple of quotes about the incredible 38 churns project. \nGet Involved in Where Art Meets The Wave\nArtists\nAll our belly boards have now been allocated with a local Cornish artist\, so we’re no longer able to accept new artists. \nThere are a wide range of local artists taking part\, from esteemed names such as Kurt Jackson\, Michael Praed\, Anthony Frost and Dick Twinney to those who create as their hobby\, so there’s sure to be something that appeals to all tastes.  Head to the Where Art Meets The Wave website to find out more about all the artists involved and their finished boards. \nExhibitions\nThe boards will be on display at a number of galleries and other locations across Cornwall from July through to mid-September.  Visit the Where Art Meets The Wave website to see a list of locations and boards. \nOnline Auction\nThe Online Auction for all the boards is now LIVE hosted by Lay’s Auctioneers of Penzance\, so you can now place bids on your favourites. Visit our Artists & their boards page and click the ‘Bid in Auction’ button under each board to take you direct to bidding on that board. Alternatively to see the whole auction and all the lots\, head to Lay’s Auctioneers site and find Where Art Meets The Wave in their upcoming auctions or click HERE. \nFinale Event\nThere will be a Finale event held at St Michael’s Church\, Newquay where every single board will be on display\, on Thursday 25th September.  The church and final exhibition of all the boards will be open all day to view.  An evening reception will be held giving the opportunity to meet the project organisers\, chat with some of the artists.  You’ll also be able to place your final bids on your favourite boards before the online auction closes at 8pm\, then celebrate with us as we announce the total raised by the project! \nSponsors\nRodda’s Creamery have sponsored the making of the belly boards\, which were kindly provided by Fyne Boat Kits\, shaped and finished by Surf Classic and Lay’s Auctioneers will host our online auction. Find out more about our sponsors here. \nWe’d love to hear from more Cornish businesses who’d like to be part of this unique and unusual project and ultimately help fund many hours of nursing care for Cornwall Hospice. \nPlease have a chat with us about how you could be part of Where Art Meets The Wave and the sponsorship packages we have on offer. \n  \nTo see other upcoming events supporting Cornwall Hospice\, please visit our website events calendar. \n  \n \n  \n  \n  \n
