SUMMARY:The St Day Feast Walk
DESCRIPTION:The St Day Feast Walk\nJoin Robin Moore for a 5 mile walk.\nRobin has been a fundraiser for the Hospice for over a decade! Join him on a taster walk before he takes on his annual Cornish Pilgrimage in September\, where he will walk 200 miles across the County whilst raising money for the charity. \nOverview: leaving the Star Inn Carpark\, the walk heads uphill into St Day\, leaving the village via the footpath to the left of Telegraph Street. The path descends to the rugby field; crosses the ground and exits onto the road which continues a quarter of a mile to Poldice Cottage. \nFrom here\, it follows the Portreath Tramroad to Scorrier where we take a half hour break at one of the local inns. \nHeading back\, we have a choice of route: a shorter route retreats to the Scorrier Woods where we join the St Day trail back to Pink Moors and Vogue. DESCRIPTION:Our Walk Talk Kernow Hayle King George V Memorial Walk event will take place on Thursday 18th June 2026. We meet outside Gilberts Beach Bar & Kitchen at 10.00am to register. \nWalk Talk Kernow is a FREE adult bereavement support group run by Cornwall Hospice. Whilst walking in nature\, each group provides a space for those who are bereaved and seeking social connections with others. \nKey information about Walk Talk Kernow Hayle – King George V Memorial Walk \n\nWe will take a stroll along the Memorial Walk at the half way point we will loop back returning to the cafe for refreshments and finish by 12.00pm. \n\n\nThe Walk Talk Kernow Hayle walk is a flat well surfaced pathway (an amble NOT a ramble) with a choice of tarmacked or woodland loop back\, with an approximate distance 2 miles. It is mostly flat but some grassy banks on the loop so NOT suitable for wheelchair users or those with mobility issues. \n\n\nSuitable footwear and appropriate clothing are essential. \nWell behaved dogs on a lead are welcome.\nPlease ensure you are fit and healthy on the day as you will be asked to sign on our registration form to this effect. \n** During the summer months it is important to stay hydrated\, please bring along adequate drinks for this reason **\nOur team will be wearing Cornwall Hospice lanyards so do look out for them. \n\n\nPlease note: There is a car park beside Hayle Swimming Pool available (free at the time of hosting this event). DESCRIPTION:We’re delighted to have the return of the Lamorran Open Gardens for 2026.\nThe Lamorran Garden will be open on Sunday 21st June – Father’s Day. Don’t miss entry to this spectacular garden – what better than an outing with family and friends to see the garden in bloom at its best at this time of year. \nThis event is organised by the Roseland Fundraising Group in support of Cornwall Hospice\, with the kind permission of Mr & Mrs Dudley-Cooke. \n\nWhat you’ll experience at Lamorran Open Garden\nLamorran is a subtropical\, Italianate inspired garden on Cornwall’s beautiful Roseland peninsula. A garden of many levels\, it’s situated on a south facing slope\, and is surrounded on three sides by the benign influence of the warming sea. St Anthony’s headland sits across the water\, creating a protected inlet to St Mawes and the river beyond. As gentle music plays we invite you to release petals\, light candles and enjoy the nature all around us.  This event is free to attend but you do need to register in advance to join us\, and advise which of the two venues you’d like to come to. \nThese events are kindly sponsored by W J Beswetherick & Son.  \nThe petals are provided at each venue are sourced locally from the Kehelland Trust. \nWe would like to offer our sincere thank you to both venues for supporting Petals to Remember. \nPetals to Remember at The Lost Gardens of Heligan\nAt The Lost Gardens of Heligan near Mevagissey\, entry is at 3pm and you’re welcome to explore the gardens until 6pm.  Once you arrive at the for Petals to Remember\, please look for the Cornwall Hospice representatives near admissions who will sign you in for the event and direct you to the area of the gardens in which the petal release will take place. The petals are provided. \nAbout The Lost Gardens of Heligan\nHeligan is one of the most mysterious estates in England.  Lost to the brambles of time since the outbreak of World War One\, this Sleeping Beauty was re-awakened in 1990 to become Europe’s largest garden restoration project. Whilst walking in nature\, each group provides a space for those who are bereaved and seeking social connections with others.\nWe also have a Walk Talk Kernow Facebook group – click HERE to visit and join our community. \nAbout the Walk Talk Kernow Marazion walk\nWe will meet outside Jordan’s Cafe\, Marazion at 10.00am for registration.  \n\nThe café and walk is accessible to most though there are several steps down to the beach\, the upper path is flat and due to the tides that week is the most likely option on the day. \n\n\nPlease wear suitable footwear. \n\n\nWell behaved dogs on a lead are welcome. \nPlease ensure you are fit and healthy on the day as you will be asked to sign on our registration form to this effect. ** During the summer months it is important to stay hydrated\, please bring along adequate drinks for this reason **\n\n\nOur team will be wearing Cornwall Hospice lanyards so do look out for them. \n\n\nThere is a charge for parking. DESCRIPTION:Our Walk Talk Kernow Godrevy event will take place on Thursday 20th August 2026. We will meet outside the café by the benches at 10.00am to register.\nWalk Talk Kernow is a FREE adult bereavement support group run by Cornwall Hospice. Whilst walking in nature\, each group provides a space for those who are bereaved and seeking social connections with others.\nKey information about Walk Talk Kernow Godrevy\n\nWe will take a moderate walk of approximately 2 mile circular to the RNLI Lifeguard Station towards Gwithian\, returning to the café for refreshments with the group finishing at 12pm.\nThe Walk Talk Kernow Godrevy walk is at strolling pace (an amble NOT a ramble) along either the high tide line across the beach or via the nature reserve and looping either way before heading back.\nThe café and walk are accessible to most although there some steeper parts\, uneven ground and slope to the beach. Not suitable for wheelchairs or wheeled walkers. DESCRIPTION:We are delighted that once again the St Austell Sunflower Trail is open during August and that the Hoskin family of Higher Tregorrick Farm are generously supporting Cornwall Hospice and Children’s Hospice South West.\nThe Twilight Sunflower Trail\nOn Tuesday 25th August this Twilight Sunflower Trail opening is exclusive to Cornwall Hospice from 6.30pm to 8.30pm and will feature \n\nA chance to explore the stunning sunflower trail at Twilight and capture incredible photos as the sun sets\nDelicious Cream Teas for an additional charge of £5\nFreshly cut flowers available to buy per stem or as a bunch\n\nThe Sunflower Trail Experience\nDiscover these stunning field of sunflowers\, with areas to sit amongst the vibrant\, sea of colour whilst watching the bees and insects at work. Relax and enjoy a peaceful wander\, on a short or long path. Take your time to experience the trail and capture incredible photos along your journey.  \nThe season to see the sunflowers at their best is brief\, so make sure to visit without delay to see this spectacle! \nEntry Cost\n£5.00 per person with under 5’s free\, no pre-booking necessary\, payment on the gate – please bring cash. \nChildren must be accompanied by an adult. \nCut Flowers\nYou will be able to take the sunshine home with you with freshly cut sunflowers available to buy per stem or as a bunch. \nDogs\nWe welcome well-behaved dogs. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times as this is a working farm.  For the enjoyment of all please clean up after your dog\, bins are provided. \nParking\nThere is ample free parking at the farm. \nVehicles and their contents are left at the owners’ own risk.  Higher Tregorrick Farm do not accept responsibility for any loss or damage to vehicles or their contents. \nAccessibility\nThe trail is in a sloping field on a working farm and the ground is uneven\, but accessible for pushchairs.
