There are literally thousands of Inca Trails within Peru and many other charity events sound similar\, but there’s only one Inca Trail that leads through the majestic Sun Gate\, and then onto the fascinating ruins of Machu Picchu. Your Cornwall Hospice challenge begins in the Inca Capital of Cusco – a fascinating city\, full of colonial charm hidden deep in the Andes Mountains. Exceptional support and companionship await – from the porters and chefs through the medics and guides\, you’ll be in great hands with superior support in reaching your goal! \nThis classic Inca Trail encompasses 3 high mountain passes – the highest being 4\,200m. The trek will be tough and will certainly test you\, but upon witnessing the sight of Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate\, mirrored with breathtaking views across the Andes\, your efforts are more than worthwhile. Conquering the one and only Inca Trail to Machu Picchu – the world’s most important archaeological find and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World! \nDates for the diary\nInca Trail Trek will take place from 31st October 2025 to 9th November 2025. \nInca Trail key information\nChallenge duration – 10 days\nDays on foot – 5 days\nDistance – 55km (approximately)\nDifficulty – Tough –  good level of fitness is required for this challenge.\nAccommodation – Camping and Hotels. Solo adventurers who would prefer their own room or tent can request a single occupancy upgrade – View Single Occupancy Costs. \n\n\nEntry Options for Ina Trail Trek\nFundraising Option: Registration Fee £299 + Min Sponsorship £4400 + Airport Tax and Fuel Surcharge Contribution: £250 + Trekking Permit £200 \nThis option means the cost of your challenge is met through raising a minimum sponsorship. The cost of this challenge is £2200 per person\, so you will need to raise £2200 to fund our care\, and anything over the minimum target helps to fund our nurses! \n80% of your minimum sponsorship must be received by Cornwall Hospice no later than 12 weeks* before departure. If you have raised the required amount\, we are then able to pay the challenge balance\, which is never more than 50% of the minimum sponsorship figure. \nRemaining 20% to be received no later than 4 weeks following your return to the UK.  You can set up a Just Giving page to start your fundraising here. \nOwn Target Option: Registration Fee £299 + Self Funding £2200 + Airport Tax and Fuel Surcharge Contribution: £250 + Trekking Permit £200 \nThis option enables you to fund the entire challenge yourself. Although there is no fundraising target set\, we do strongly encourage you to support us at Cornwall Hospice and raise as much as you possibly can. You can set up a Just Giving page to start your fundraising here. \nStep 1 – You pay the non-refundable registration fee to Global Adventure Challenges\, in order to join the challenge. \nStep 2 – Prior to your departure\, you will receive an invoice to pay the challenge balance as shown on the respective challenge page. \nStep 3 – The challenge balance invoice is to be paid no later than 12 weeks* before departure. \nInca Trail Trek Itinerary\n\nDay 1 –Depart UK. \nDay 2 – Arrive in Cusco (3\,300m). \nDay 3 – Acclimatisation Trek around the Inca sites. Tambomachay to Sacsayhuaman\, then to Cusco. Distance – 8 – 12km (approx.). \nDay 4 – The Inca Trail! Trek KM82 (2\,650m) to Huallyabamba Campsite (3\,000m). Distance – 11km (approx.). \n\n\nDay 5 – Trek Huallyabamba Campsite up to Dead Womens Pass (4\,200m). Descend to Pacaymayo Valley Camp (3\,600m). Distance – 12km (approx.) \nDay 6 – Trek Pacaymayo Valley Campsite up to Runkuraqay Pass (3\,950m) & Phuyupatamarka Pass (3\,600m). Descend to Winay-Wayna Campsite (2\,700m). Distance – 18km (approx.). \nDay 7 – Trek Winay-Wayna Campsite to Inti Punku (Sun Gate)\, then to Machu Picchu! Distance – 6km (approx.). \nDay 8 – Free day in Cusco for participants to relax. For further information on their climate care strategy\, click here.\n\n\n\nFrequently asked questions about Inca Trail Trek\nHow do I go about raising the sponsorship? \nOnce you have signed up you will receive a fundraising pack from Cornwall Hospice in order to make your fundraising as easy as possible. A great way to get started is by setting up a Just Giving page\, but if you have any further questions our fundraising team are always on hand to help. You will also receive a few tips and ideas from Global Adventure Challenges to steer you in the right direction. \nIs there a minimum participant requirement?  \nYes\, a minimum of 16 participants need to enter the challenge for it to go ahead. \nHow fit do I need to be? \nThis challenge has been graded as Tough (2) on our challenge grading scheme meaning the trek has been designed to be challenging but achievable as long as you train beforehand. You will be trekking for 5 consecutive days\, and at high altitude and in varied temperatures\, a good cardiovascular fitness is required – the fitter you are the more you will enjoy the challenge! We will provide you with a full training guide once you register\, this is also available to download via our website. Why not join one of our challenge training weekends – it’s a great opportunity for you to meet our team and other challengers\, and train together prior to the event. \nWhat happens if I get tired? \nThere will be regular rest stops for drinks and snacks – there is no problem with you taking more rest stops should you need them. A guide will be bringing up the rear of the group ensuring no one is left alone. Remember this is not a race! The main physical problem you may encounter is altitude sickness\, which can occur over 2\,500m – the maximum altitude on this challenge is approx. 4\,200m. \nDo I need specialist kit? \nWe will supply you with a kit list of what to take once you register to take part. DESCRIPTION:Join us for our Cycle France 2025 challenge!\nJoin #TeamCHC on our fourth bespoke overseas cycle for charity\, taking place over 6 days in September 2025.\nYour adventure will take you from the shores of Normandy through the beautiful countryside of Brittany\, before returning to Cornwall for a triumphant finish and celebration at our Mount Edgcumbe Hospice in St Austell.\nA truly amazing experience; you’ll make lifelong friends\, go beyond what you thought you could do\, but most of all make unforgettable memories.  \nWant to know more?  Here’s the lowdown\nYou will spend 5 days in the saddle\, cycling some 327 miles. Your journey begins from the Ferry when we dock in Ouistreham (Caen)\, where once underway you will snake through picturesque Normandy and Brittany\, as we cycle 4 days through quiet French country lanes. \nYou’ll pedal through traditional market towns to see some of the best northern France has to offer with a mix of stunning country side and spectacular coastline – even catching glimpses of the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Site of Mont-Saint-Michel. \nOn Day 5 we will head into Roscoff to board our ferry home\, where we will spend a night in Plymouth before our final day in the saddle back to Mount Edgcumbe Hospice\, where our teams will welcome you to your finale across the finish line. \nThe pride\, camaraderie and sense of achievement will make all the days in the saddle worth it as you soak in this magnificent achievement. \n\nCycle France 2025 Key Points\nChallenge duration – 6 days\nDays in the saddle – 5 days\nDistance – 327 miles (approximately)\nDifficulty – Moderate – a good level of fitness is required for this challenge. You will need to train\, however remember that although the distances are larger\, you have all day to do it!  We do ask that you are able to average a speed of 10mph to ensure we meet check points\, meal times and the all important ferry home!\nAccommodation – Overnight ferry and hotels (twin room occupancy) \nEntry Options for Cycle France 2025\nFundraising Option: Registration Fee £99 (non-refundable) + Minimum Sponsorship £1\,600\nThis option means the cost of your challenge is met through raising a minimum sponsorship. The cost of this challenge is £850 per cyclist\, so you will raise £750 to fund our care\, and anything over the minimum target will directly fund our nurses! \nWe expect that 80% of your minimum sponsorship (£1\,280) is received by the 24th July 2025 (10 weeks prior to departure). We ask for this\, as it is at this point we pay final balances for accommodation. \nOwn Target Option: Registration Fee £99 (non-refundable) + Self Funding £850 + Own Fundraising Target\nThis option means you can choose how much you wish to fundraise\, by paying for the cost of your challenge yourself. This way\, you are in control of your target. \nOn the 10th July 2025 (12 weeks before departure)\, you will receive an invoice to pay the £850 balance. There is also the option to setup a Direct Debit from the point of booking until this date if you wish to make monthly payments (please discuss this with Jane or Oli prior to booking). \nYour challenge balance must be paid in full by the 24th July 2025\, otherwise your place may be at risk. \n5 Day Cycle France 2025 Itinerary\nDay 1 – Registration will be at 12.00 for a 13.00 (to be confirmed) departure on the bus\, travelling to the Ferry Port at Portsmouth.  We will stop for comfort breaks and an evening meal.  On arrival at the ferry port you will be repatriated with your bike and we will embark the ferry as a group of cycling passengers. \nDay 2 – Departing from the overnight ferry at Ouistreham (Caen)\, you will travel through Normandy\, taking in typically stunning French countryside before arrival in Vire Normandie. Distance – 77.3 miles / 4\,717ft elevation gain. \nRoute Map Day 2 – Ouistreham to Vire Normandie. \nDay 3 – Today you cycle from Vire Normandie to the historic market town of Dinan\, taking in views of the stunning UNESCO World Heritage Site Mont-Saint-Michel – make sure you have your camera ready!  This will be one of the longer days in the saddle but the Coastal views will make it worth it\, plus Dinan really is a treat at the end of a full day of cycling! Distance – 85.1 miles / 4\,646ft elevation gain. \nRoute Map Day 3 – Vire Normandie to Dinan. \nDay 4 – Todays route takes you out of Dinan\, where you will experience a stunning cocktail of countryside and coastline with yet more amazing views.  Finishing in the picturesque riverside town of Lannion you will be rewarded with yet more beautiful scenery. Distance – 85.2 miles / 4\,513ft elevation gain. \nRoute Map Day 4 – Dinan to Lannion. \nDay 5 – A shorter day today! Heading out of Lannion you will largely hug the coast on your way back to Roscoff to catch the Ferry back to Plymouth. Make the most of the French roads and exquisite views as the Port of Roscoff looms ever closer. The ferry is an afternoon crossing and we will stay overnight at a hotel in Plymouth. Distance – 41.5 miles / 2\,331ft elevation gain. \nRoute Map Day 5 – Lannion to Roscoff. \nDay 6 – Your final day in the saddle! A short ride through Plymouth\, to the Torpoint Ferry to bring us back into Kernow\, as we follow familiar roads to take us back to Mount Edgcumbe Hospice. There will be a celebration in the grounds of the hospice before we head to a full on celebration meal\, where your supporters will be welcome to join us (there will be additional cost for this)! DESCRIPTION:Your Saint’s Way Trek adventure awaits – Join us for either 2 days of walking and camping\, 1 full day of trekking 30 miles coast to coast\, or take on the Saints Way Half which is 13.5 miles across Cornwall!\nSaint’s Way Trek 2025 Options\nClassic Two-Day Trek with Camping\nYour two day Saint’s Way Trek 2025 adventure starts on Saturday morning at Padstow Church\, where you will embark upon the first leg of your journey. As you leave Padstow you will be treated to spectacular views back across the famous harbour town\, before making your way towards St. Breock and the ancient monolithic landmark on the downs. \nThe first day of trekking ends at the 16.5 mile mark\, where we will set up camp at Mena Farm Campsite with it’s idyllic wild meadows. With it being the summer solstice we are guaranteed a beautiful evening around the fire pit. \nSunday morning takes you to the windswept heights of Helman Tor\, where you can view the north and south coasts of our beautiful county. As you head down towards Golant\, the banks of the river Fowey will lead you to the finish of the iconic Saint’s Way at Readymoney Cove in Fowey\, where a medal will be waiting for you! \nOne-Day Through Trek\nFor the first time ever\, we are offering The Saints Way Trek 2025 as a one-day through-trek ultra challenge! \nYou’ll start bright and early only Saturday morning at Padstow Church where you will begin your 30 mile adventure.  You’ll enjoy stunning coastal views as you make your way towards the historic site of St Breock. From there you will journey towards Withiel\, on to Lanivet\, and up to the vistas of Helman Tor which showcase views of both south and north coasts. \nThe lovely creek-side village of Golant will be your next stop with Fowey River leading you to your final destination of Readymoney Cove in beautiful Fowey where you will receive your well earned Saint’s Way Trek 2025 medal and finally rest those feet! What a way to celebrate the summer solstice. \nSaint’s Way Half\nIf you don’t fancy the full 30 miles\, then why not take on The Saint’s Way Half and walk the second part of the ancient 13.5 mile route. \nStart your journey in the lovely village of Lanivet and make your way towards rugged Helman Tor with it’s windswept heights. The next part of your challenge takes you past rolling farmland and on towards the idyllic village of Golant where you meet the River Fowey and journey through anicent woods and secluded valleys ending in Fowey where your medal and a warm welcome will be found at Readymoney Cove. \nSaint’s Way Trek 2025 Fees and Sponsorship\nClassic 2 Day Trek with Camping\nRegistration: Fundraising – £29 + £250 minimum sponsorship \nSelf-funded Option: £99 + own fundraising target\,  Under 16s: £25 + own fundraising target \n1 Day Through-Trek\nRegistration: Fundraising – £19 + £250 minimum sponsorship \nSelf-funded Option: £99 + own fundraising target\,  Under 16s: £15 + own fundraising target \nSaints Way Half\nRegistration: Fundraising – £19 + £175 minimum sponsorship \nSelf-funded Option: £99 + own fundraising target\,  Under 16s: £15 + own fundraising target \nWe’ll support you all the way!\nSaint’s Way Trek 2025 Itinerary\nNo matter which challenge you take on\, the Saint’s Way Trek 2025  is fully supported\, meaning we are there with you every step of the way.  The One-day and Two-Day trekkers will meet us at our Cornwall Hospice furniture store in St. Austell to register. You can park your car for the duration of your challenge and catch our shuttle bus to the start line in Padstow. All campers will leave overnight bags and tents with us and they will be waiting for you at the campsite on Saturday afternoon\, so you can focus on the walk and enjoying yourself as you cross the iconic Saint’s Way. \nFood\, water\, and snacks will be provided to all at various checkpoints throughout the route. When the Through-trekkers reach Readymoney Cove on Saturday we will shuttle your tired legs back to our car park in St Austell to collect your vehicle. \nMena Farm Campsite have a fantastic selection of food vans who visit the site\, or nearby in the local village\, Lanivet are the delights of Welcome Stranger fish & chip shop and Lanivet Inn pub both providing delicious food to eat in or takeaway– so if you are camping with us you have all the means to purchase a well deserved evening meal on Saturday night before you get some shut eye. Enjoying dinner together around the campfire on the Saturday evening is a great way to cement new friendships\, whilst sharing stories and memories. \nBreakfast will be provided for all campers on Sunday morning before setting off for the second day of trekking. \nOur Saints Way Half entrants will meet us at our Cornwall Hospice furniture store in St. Austell to park your car and catch the shuttle bus to the start point in Lanivet. You will enjoy the same checkpoints as our Two-day trekkers which includes lunch (provided) near Lostwithiel. \nAll Saint’s Way Trek 2025 finishers will receive a medal at the finish line at Readymoney Cove\, and will be shuttled back to the car park in St Austell. \nThe Saint’s Way Trek 2025 Route\nYou can view our Saint’s Way Trek 2025 route in detail on our Strava Route Map here! \nCan you do it?\nOf course you can!
