SUMMARY:The Cornish Pilgrimage Walk
DESCRIPTION:Author and walker Robin Moore invites you to join him in his celebration of 25 years of walking for our charity as he walks The Cornish Pilgrimage over 12 days during September 2025.\nIn honour of Cornwall Hospice\, Robin has created this 200 mile pilgrimage walk as a National Route and Ancient and Modern Discovery Trail for Cornwall and everyone is welcome to join him along his route.  Whether you have an hour\, a day or more\, Robin would love as many people to join him along the way of this incredible walking route he’s created.\nOriginated in 2010\, The Cornish Pilgrimage is largely perceived as an Ancient and Modern Discovery Trail aimed at delving deep into the Cornish culture. Participating in the Pilgrimage each year also enables Robin and those walking to raise awareness and funds for Cornwall Hospice. \nThroughout the entirety of the journey\, there are Cornwall Hospice collections tins in place at most of the stopovers/hostelries where patrons are happy to support this worthy cause. Local support is invaluable but it’s also good to know that the pilgrimage invites the wider public to come along and offer a help in hand too. To the bold adventurer opportunities are boundless. \nThe pilgrimage offers a chance to discover an iconic region while at the same time testing one’s ability to walk long distance. \nThe Cornish Pilgrimage Route\nSetting off on Saturday 6th September 2025 \, Robin will be walking The Cornish Pilgrimage route: \n\nDay 1 – Morwenstow\nDay 2 – Bude\nDay 3 – Tregadillet\nDay 4 – Camelford\nDay 5 – Padstow\nDay 6 – Lanivet\nDay 7 – Pentewan\nDay 8 – Veryan\nDay 9 – Carharrack\nDay 10 – St Ives\nDay 11 – St Michael’s Mount\nDay 12 – Land’s End\n\nHow you can participate in The Cornish Pilgrimage\nWe invite you to join Robin this walk – whether it’s for an hour or two\, a day or more – we’d love you to come on this journey through ancient and modern Cornwall\, seeing our wonderful county from a different perspective.  By making a donation to Robin’s fundraising for Cornwall Hospice you’ll be helping to fund our two hospices to provide end of life care to the people of Cornwall. \nIf you’re keen for a challenge\, why not take on the whole route? \nYou can also obtain The Cornish Pilgrimage Guide and a Passport on Robin’s website.  The Passport enables participants to collect stamps and signatures to validate the pilgrimage walk. \nContact Robin Moore to find out more by emailing Robin or by visiting his website https://www.robin-moore.co.uk/ \n  \nFind out about other upcoming fundraising events in support of Cornwall Hospice on our website events calendar.

DESCRIPTION:We’re delighted to have the Fontana Open Garden included in our 2025 events calendar and our thanks go to Derek and Marina Bishop for allowing access to their incredible garden to support our Cornish charity.\nWhen you can visit the Fontana Open Garden\nSunday 7th September from 1pm – 4pm.  Don’t miss entry to this spectacular garden – enjoy an outing with family and friends to see this spectacular garden at its best at this time of year. \nThis event is organised by Derek and Marina Bishop of Fontana Garden in support of Cornwall Hospice.  If you would like to know more about Derek Bishops incredible life and the story of Fontana Garden books will be available to buy at the Open Garden. \nWhat you’ll experience at Fontana Open Garden\nFontana is an stunning enclosed 14 acre garden including wild gardens with primroses\, anemones & bluebells\, a bamboo garden\, waterfalls & rockeries all providing a unique experience and breath taking views across the whole gardens and St Austell Bay. \nFacilities at the Fontana Open Garden\n\nNo booking required\nWell behaved dogs on leads are welcome\nToilets available\nParking available on the road (please do not park at Trenython Manor or in the garden\nRefreshments including cream tea and cakes available\nFontana Garden is a valley garden with steep slopes and can be slippery when wet so it is not suitable for wheelchairs or people who are unsteady on their feet.\nSensible footwear is strongly advised however there is a golf cart available on a first come first served basis\nPayment by cash please\n\nDirections to Fontana Gardens\nFrom Tywardreath head to Fowey on the Castledore Road.  Trenython Manor will be on your right hand side and Fontana Garden is located just before the hotel. \nYou can see what other fundraising events we have coming up by visiting our website events calendar.
